About

These photographs, taken over a period of time, have a personal resonance. They are or have been connected to my everyday life and feed into the sculptural work they are interspersed with.
They are the windows I look through when I wake up, the doors I pass in front off as I walk, and yet, in spite of their familiarity, they acquire a metaphorical meaning when seen out of their context.
They are windows, doors and openings that hint at the possibility of further reaches. Portals through which one can gaze into another space, or let something other enter.
Liminal places of passage, they suggest the presence of other spaces.
Vivienne Martinelli studied Fine Arts at the Hereford College of Art.
A 3D artist, sculptor and photographer, she works from her home in the Herefordshire countryside. Having travelled extensively in Latin America and Europe, she brings a sense of exploration to her work, where places are, or may not be, what they seem.
